Chubzy case study · Infrastructure
Pre-launch / In testingChubzy Infrastructure — DevOps
Founder · Full-Stack Engineer · DevOps
A technical case study of how Chubzy is built and shipped. Shipping one product to iOS, Android, and web as a solo founder only works if releases are automated and repeatable, so I applied the same DevOps practices I use professionally to my own product.
- GitHub Actions
- Capacitor
- Supabase
- TypeScript
The challenge
Three platforms, each with its own build and release process, plus a database whose schema evolves alongside the app. Without automation, every release would be a manual checklist across web hosting, two app stores, and the database.
What I built
- Automated deployment for three platforms
- GitHub Actions pipelines automate the build and deployment of the web app and the native iOS and Android releases from a single codebase.
- Environments and database migrations
- Separate environments keep testing apart from production, and database changes ship as versioned migrations rather than manual edits.
- Secret management
- Credentials and keys live in the CI and platform secret stores, never in the repository.
- Release validation and deployment controls
- Releases pass through validation workflows before they are promoted, so a change is checked before it reaches users rather than after.
Status
Chubzy is pre-launch and currently in testing. This case study describes what is implemented and tested, not production usage at scale. Follow along at chubzy.com.
