Chubzy — Full-Stack Product Engineering

Most dating apps optimize for endless swiping, which keeps people browsing instead of meeting. Chubzy flips that around: you lead with a plan, and the conversation is about whether you want to do it together. I wanted a product that measures success by real plans made, not time spent in the app.

I designed and engineered Chubzy end to end as a solo founder, turning the concept into a working cross-platform application. It is native-first across iOS and Android, with a web experience built from the same React and TypeScript codebase.

Plan-based discovery

Discovery starts from a plan, not a profile. The data model and matching flow are built around plans, so the core of the product is getting people to agree on something real to do together rather than collecting swipes.

Invitation workflows

Members invite each other to plans, and the invitation flow carries a plan from interest to a confirmed meetup.

Plan Room

A shared space for collaborating on a plan in real time once both people are in.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are handled through RevenueCat, giving one consistent subscription and entitlement model across platforms.

Safety

A dating product has to protect its members first, so safety features are part of the core design rather than an afterthought.

The client is a React and TypeScript application packaged for iOS and Android with Capacitor and also served on the web. Supabase provides authentication, the database, authorization rules, and real-time updates, and RevenueCat manages subscriptions.
